  10. The following issues were discussed at the MSI Working Group session.

  13.    o Online MIB Database and the Need for both GDMO and SNMP MIB
  14.      Definitions:  The group discussed the requirement for an online MIB
  15.      database that would be needed to support the translation of MSI
  16.      requests and replies to and from protocol specific formats.  It was
  17.      decided that the MSI document would make an explicit statement
  18.      about the types of services that would be required from such a
  19.      database, but would not attempt to fully define an interface to the
  20.      data.  In addition, the issue with the need for both GDMO and SNMP
  21.      versions of MIBs was discussed and also raised at the OIM meeting.
  22.      It was decided that the Chairs of the OIM and MSI Working Groups
  23.      would raise this as an issue with the Network Area Chair.

  25.    o Access Control Change:  The format of the access control parameter
  26.      was changed to be an AVL and the decision on the contents of the
  27.      parameter was defined until the proposals for SNMP and CMOT
  28.      authentication are stable.  Once these methods are stable, then the
  29.      contents of the access control parameter for each protocol will be
  30.      the subject of separate implementors agreements and will not be
  31.      included directly in the MSI document.

  33.    o Add ASN.1 Encodings for the MSI Parameters:  Oscar Newkerk agreed
  34.      to add an appendix to the MSI document that will define that ASN.1
  35.      structures and the object identifiers needed by the MSI.
